Global Private Bank – Investments Product Controller - Associate

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Investments CFO Team covers investment management, trust & estate, custody, alternative investment and brokerage products for the Global Private Bank from a finance perspective which includes financial analytics around the profitability of these products, forecasting, and ad-hoc analytics to support business decisions. The Product Control team within the Investments CFO Team is responsible for the integrity of all actual financial results of these products. The group works in partnership with a variety of business partners and the CFO to ensure accuracy, research discrepancies, and help resolve financial reporting issues to ensure financial reporting being sent to investors is complete and accurate.

Responsibilities of the role include:
    * Ownership of monthly financials and management reporting of the Global Private Bank’s ~$1.7T in investment assets; including oversight of all financial reporting, monitoring activity throughout the month end close and providing management with regular updates on monthly performance and results
    * Understand and evaluate the financial impact from the drivers of the investment product economics including changes in financial markets, flows, product mix, pricing impacts, etc.
    * Perform analytics that provide insight into the business drivers that contribute to the financial results
    * Continuously improve the way we do business through review of current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control framework of the business, particularly through innovation employing automation technology
    * Execute on ad-hoc requests and proactively gather the needed information accurately and efficiently
    * Work with front office to provide transparency and key drivers that contribute to their financial results
    * Challenge existing control operating model and identification of control issues/risks resulting in increased efficiency and implementation of effective control processes.

Qualifications
    * Finance, Accounting or related degree
    * 4+ years of experience, preferably in the Financial Services industry or Controller / Accounting field
    * Highly motivated and a fast learner - self-starter with strong initiative
    * Pro-actively takes ownership of issues and executes through completion
    * Analytical, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
    * Able to work independently as well as in a team across global locations and multiple time zones
    * Excellent communication skills
    * Strong Excel skills required, other technical skills a plus (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.)
    * Knowledge of JPMC financial systems a plus
