Software Engineer Internship

Are you a motivated and skilled Software Engineer looking to gain real world experience and make a meaningful impact in the health industry? Join our agile and ambitious startup team and play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge health data and analytics apps. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the founder and senior engineers, using technologies like React Native and Next.JS. Together, we'll enhance and expand our apps to create a seamless user experience. 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and designers to bring health apps to life based on design prototypes.
  • Work closely with our team, to update, refine, and introduce new features to health apps.
  • Enhance and extend our website, leveraging modern web development technologies, including a combination of server-side and client-side rendering methods.
  • ***Write clean and well-tested code, continuously refining and optimizing it to meet high-quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed documentation to ensure the smooth deployment and maintenance of the apps.
  • Stay abreast of technology trends and explore their potential applications in our projects.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to dedicate at least 20 hours/week for this internship.
  • Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science or related field OR bootcamp OR demonstrable experience.
  • MUST have a demonstrable portfolio of previous software engineering work.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with computer systems and various technologies.
  • Proficient in the following technologies (Highly desired, but not required):
    • React/React Native*
    • NextJs*
    • Javascript/Typescript
    • AWS
    • MySql/MongoDB
    • Git
  • **Highly organized with a keen sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Consistent, dependable, and capable of meeting project deadlines efficiently.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new skills and technologies rapidly.
  • Awareness of current industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Ability to work effectively within an office environment, utilizing communication tools, engaging in video conferences, and maintaining clear email communication.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

  • This position is unpaid and pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act, will abide by the U.S. Department of Labor's guidelines. In exchange for their contributions, candidates will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and earn credits.
