Private Equity Investment Internship

Company description

Camden Park Capital (www.camdenparkcap.com) is a search fund on a mission to find, acquire, and operate a single middle-market business. Raised in 2023, the fund is managed by Matt Fiedelholtz, a Wharton MBA graduate with nearly a decade of experience across consulting (McKinsey) and technology (Google). Matt is based out of New York City but the team operates fully remote.

 

Role description

The private equity investment internship provides an opportunity to gather hands-on experience finding, evaluating, and executing a private equity transaction. Interns will split time across three primary tasks:

  1. Investment thesis development – Identifying, researching, and evaluating potential industries to determine attractive investment opportunities
  2. Deal sourcing – Prospecting for potential opportunities, helping craft outreach communications, and filtering companies to build a pipeline of investment opportunities
  3. Transaction execution - Conducting thorough due diligence of acquisition opportunities and helping craft communication materials for investors (e.g., deal memos) 

 

What the internship offers

This experience should provide interns with a strong skill set to pursue full-time or additional internship opportunities in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or entrepreneurship.

 

While the position is unpaid, Matt is committed to providing training on finance related topics, letters of recommendation, and introductions to his network of colleagues across private equity, investment banking, consulting, and technology companies.

 

Logistics

  • Location - 100% remote but applicants must be located in North America
  • Commitment – Part-time (20 hours per week)
  • Dates – The internship will run May-August (~12 weeks)
  • Salary – Unpaid internship 

 

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate degree program with a business or quantitative focus (e.g., finance, economics, engineering)
  • Exceptional work ethic and commitment
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • High level of intellectual curiosity
