Reconciliation/General Ledger Accounting Intern

Here’s what you can expect in the role as an Investor Reporting Accounting Intern:

The Investor Reporting Accounting Intern position exists to aid to prepare certain monthly accounting reports for the serviced only and securitized loans. Interns will be requested to aid in researching, complete accounting duties, and document accounting processes for the serviced only and securitized loans.

Job Duties:

  • Reconcile and analyze various transactions relating to loan activity and cash movement.
  • Query and analyze loans and other data from the in house AS400 system.
  • Ensure certain general ledger entries and loan account analyses related to assigned accounting reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with standardization and automation processes to improve accuracy of reports.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with leadership and team members regarding duties and tasks.
  • Exhibit high level of judgment and discretion.
  • Perform other miscellaneous accounting functions and other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to qualify:

  • Currently enrolled in an Accounting Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program or recent graduate. Ideal candidate will have completed at least one collegiate level accounting course.
  • Computer competency with Microsoft Office, including Word typing skills at minimum 25 wpm,  and Excel, formulas and features.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage time effectively.
  • Manage multiple deadlines, complete tasks timely and follow up as needed.
  • Must be professional, well organized, thorough, committed, urgent and a resourceful problem solver.
  • Ability to manage multiple duties with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to effectively communication and interact with internal and external customers via phone and email.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

But also, remember you:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • 75% communication methods completed over the phone.  Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
  • Ability to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate process.
  • Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
