Herspiegel Consulting is a management consulting firm focusing on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Our organization helps clients build successful brands from preclinical phases through launch and to formulate and implement brand-specific strategies and programs for in-line brands. Services include brand strategy, market assessment; brand positioning, launch planning, lifecycle management, thought leader identification and engagement, and identification/development of marketing programs and sales force training/communication.

We are seeking a Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with experience working in a Sustainability position or procurement environment preferably in pharmaceutical & life sciences industry.

This position will be responsible for coordinating the company sustainability programs and assist with client proposals. The coordinator will lead research and analysis used to develop corporate sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices are environmentally friendly and compliant with client requirements and leverage “green” best practices. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the marketing efforts including driving growth and enhancing Herspiegel’s brands across a variety of media. The position is based in Herspiegel’s Yardley, PA headquarters.

Sustainability & “Green” program development and reporting (50%)

Collaborates with leadership to implement processes and technologies that reduce the company carbon footprint

Promotes and explains the company sustainability philosophy to internal and external stakeholders

Develop understanding of Herspiegel business offerings and processes associated with regulatory and client reporting requirements

Prepare various reports and company assessments for internal and external purposes

Monitor and report progress against sustainability goals and objectives

Implement a highly organized approach and structure to ensure focus and alignment among business units on sustainability initiative, as well as timely and accurate KPIand ESG data collection and validation reporting

Monitor, recommend and coordinate opportunities for award submittals

Prepare communications regarding sustainability activities in coordination with Herspiegel offices around the world

Maintain a list of sustainability related commitments made to customers and ensure any agreed reporting is completed and compliant

Coordinate compliance and reporting with client Contract Management, Sales and Procurement and Purchasing departments

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field such as Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Marketing or Business Administration

At least two years of experience with Green and Sustainability programs such as EcoVadis, SME Climate Hub.

Advanced skills in excel and PowerPoint to analyze and present complex data, results, and strategy

Professional, confident, enthusiastic and detail oriented

Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Ability to work with a sense of urgency

Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and be resourceful

Possessing proven communication skills, including experience effectively working with senior management

Experience with Green & Sustainability programs such as SME Climate Hub and EcoVadis

Compensation for this role is set with the salary band of $50,000 USD - $60, 000 USD.

Individuals must reside in Yardley, PA, Raleigh,  NC or Toronto, CA. This role is Hybrid and expectations will be to be in office 3 days a week.
