
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Jemsek Specialty Clinic is nationally recognized and growing. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team. We are a team of providers dedicated to giving exceptional and holistic care to our patients who suffer from Lyme Disease.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients, focusing on treating and managing their complex health conditions. As well as promote good health practices, and play a vital role on our treatment team.
Comfortable providing treatment, patient and family education, and support both with in-person clinic patient visits as well as telehealth consults. Infectious disease experience is a plus but not required. You’ll work closely with our team, so a team spirit and a go-to attitude are a must.
Patience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Prescribe Medications and Treatments: Utilize your expertise and medical critical thinking to prescribe appropriate medications and monitor patient responses to tailored treatments.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on health maintenance, and management strategies to empower them to take control of their health.
- Collaborate with the Medical Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep attention to detail and be meticulous with patient records and documentation to ensure continuity and quality of care. Must complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Engage in initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient experience.
- Stay Current in Healthcare: Commit to continuous education and stay updated with the latest developments in the healthcare field.
- Demonstrate Empathy and Communication: Build strong relationships with patients through empathetic and effective communication.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Degree in Nursing (required)
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the District of Columbia (required)
- Experience in IV infusions (desirable)
- Knowledge of psychiatry is a plus
- Certification in a specialized area of practice is a plus
- Strong clinical and analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address patient needs and emergencies promptly
- Proficiency in using electronic health records systems (EHR - athenaPractice).
- Psychiatry experience is a plus
Skills
- Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER, or similar settings
- Interest/experience in the treatment of infectious disease
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations (HIPAA)
- Ability to communicate effectively

Job Type: Part-time then will transition to full-time
