Surgical Technologist

Aurora Health Care is now part of Advocate Health, the 3rd largest not for profit health care system in the country. We are looking for a Surgical Technologist to join our team in Oconomowoc, WI. This position is benefit eligible and benefits start on your first day. 

Schedule:

  • Full-time on day shift (0630-1500)
  • Call: Four weeknight shifts (M-F) per month (1500-0630)
  • Call: Weekends, Two 24-hour shifts (Sat or Sun) per month (0630-0630) 
  • Rotating Holidays (2 a year)
  • $10,000 - $14,000 sign on bonus (based on years of experience)

About Aurora Medical Center Summit:

  • 11 ORs and 1 dedicated Cysto Room. 
  • procedures include Ortho, Ent, Plastics, General, GYN, Neuro/Spine, and Robotics
  • Our age population is pediatric to geriatric.

Education, Licensure & Certification Required:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • NBSTSA Certification preferred but not required.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of preparatory, scrubbing and related services necessary to provide patient service in the operating room. 
  • Assists with all types of procedures and maintains basic knowledge of a variety of procedures.
  • Assists with gowning and gloving
  • Maintain a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials
  • Anticipate the Surgeons' needs
  • Pass instruments and/or supplies to the Surgeons
