Social Impact Career Trek( Site Visit) –  Local nonprofit

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Interested in exploring careers in the nonprofit and social impact sector? Join us for the Social Impact Career Trek on Thursday, March 20 10:15-2 EST where you’ll have the opportunity to visit Club Nova in the Chapel Hill area, network with professionals, and learn about career paths in the field. 

Why Participate? 

Nonprofit organizations offer careers in a variety of fields, including: 

  • Program Management & Community Outreach: Work directly with communities to design and implement impactful programs.
  • Fundraising & Development: Help secure funding through grants, donors, and corporate partnerships.
  • Marketing & Communications: Amplify an organization’s mission through social media, storytelling, and advocacy.
  • Operations & Administration: Keep nonprofits running smoothly through finance, human resources, and leadership roles.
  • Policy & Advocacy: Influence change through research, policy development, and grassroots organizing.

 

The Trek will be a great time to  

Engage with nonprofit organizations: Club Nova is local to the Chapel Hill/ Carrboro Area. 

Networking & Gain Career Insights: Learn firsthand about social impact careers, challenges, and opportunities. 

Discover Micro-Internship Opportunity: This organization will be hosting a summer micro-internship, this is a great time to explore how your skills can contribute to meaningful social impact work at these organizations.

Letter of Intent (200-500 words): Explain why you are interested in attending the Career Trek, how it aligns with your career goals, and what you hope to gain from the experience. 

 

Selection Process & Timeline 

February 14: Application open 

March 14: Application Close* EXTENDED

March 14: Selected applicants notified 

March 14: Waitlist notification 

March 18: Required Pre-departure meeting 

March 20: Career Trek (10:15-2 EST) * Free Lunch at 1 PM

 

Who Can Apply? 

This opportunity is open to all students interested in social impact careers, particularly those looking to connect with nonprofit organizations in the local area. Space is limited to 25 students, so apply early!
