Role Description
The analyst will join a team of 9 (4 traders and 5 sales/structuring) that provide fixed income clients with bespoke financing and funding structures, right way derivatives, and structured investments focusing on Latin America clients. Products that are traded - collateralized financing structures, insurance, credit linked notes, and RSG derivatives. Client base is primarily focused in Latin Americas and engage with financial institutions/banks, hedge funds, and corporate clients.
The EM Structured group is focused in providing structured fixed income and macro bespoke solutions to client’s financing and risks needs. We trade funding structures and derivatives mainly: collateralized financing structures, insurance, credit linked notes, RSG derivatives and Securitized products. Most of our clients are in Latin America and are financial institutions, banks and hedge funds. We also deal with corporates. The team is composed of 4 traders and 5 structurers/sales.
The team has deep product expertise, strong client relationships, and the ability to provide innovative and optimal solutions to clients across their product space. It is also considered the one of the most advanced across the street. The group has delivered consistent revenue since 2016/2017 inception and provides exposure to different types of asset classes –Credit, Rates, FX

As a new Analyst joiner, you will also attend a four-week intensive Global Training Program with peers from our offices around the world. Nomura places great emphasis on the career development of our junior population. Our comprehensive program will focus on Global Markets technical training alongside business speakers and networking opportunities. The unique program will orientate you to Nomura’s history, values, and build your knowledge and appreciation of working within a Japanese investment bank.
Once you have completed Global Training and joined your desk, you will be enrolled in our Continuing Professional Development Program offering workshops, speaker sessions, and mentorship. The three pillars of CPD (Business & Technical Skills, Career Management, and Professional Skills) provide you with the necessary knowledge and ability required to succeed on the desk and maximize your potential.
The Structured EM Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Trade execution and hedging for daily risk rebalancing
- Monitor risk across all asset classes and propose new hedging strategies
- Assist on the modelling of structured transaction and help facilitate their execution
- Help improve trading tools to accurately model and capture risk and p&l
- Analysis of P&L trends and P&L explain patterns used in model development
- Assist with trading execution of complex structured derivatives.
Desired Skillset
- Technical and analytical background
- Programming skills is desired. Excel and PowerPoint is a must
- Language: Spanish or Portuguese a plus
- Exemplary attention to detail with strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to contribute to high performance teams
- Knowledge of debt & equity capital markets and fundamental analysis
Requirements
- Outstanding academic qualifications; 3.7 GPA or higher
- Pursuing a BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university, majoring in either Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or any STEM major
- Graduation must be between December 2024 and June 2025
Disclosures
This position has a set base salary of $110,000 per year.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
