Behavioral Science Faculty

Summary: The behavioral science faculty provide psychosocial training and supervision to faculty and family medicine residents in order to meet residency training requirements and optimize patient care at training sites.

In this role, the behavioral science faculty member will:

  • Provide psychosocial training to the faculty and residents
  • Participate in development and implementation of program curriculum
  • Precept residents at affiliated training sites.
  • Provide patient care
  • Participate in faculty meetings
  • Participate in faculty and resident evaluations
  • Participate in wellness and faculty development activities
  • Contribute to faculty scholarly activities

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, psychology preferred
  • Masters degree required, psychology preferred

EXPERIENCES AND / OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrates experience and competences as a teacher and preceptor of resident’s students.
  • Demonstrates experience and competences as faculty member of residency program.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Clinical Psychology PhD–eligible for highest level of licensure
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker–psychotherapy R privilege 

Recommended / Not Required:

  • Has training in evidence-based skills and relational therapeutic modalities
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience working with urban, underserved populations
  • Prior exposure to psychopharmacology via academic or clinical training
