I really appreciated the support from everyone in my department. Everyone wanted me to learn as much as possible, and to enjoy my experience. My intern class was such a fun group and they really put a big emphasis on lets us bond with each other and bond with the prior interns and current development analysis.
What I wish was different
I really enjoyed all my time with the AGA and Directors, so maybe something I would suggest for the future is more time with leaders and directors.
Advice
Give 110% every time your in the office. The summer flies by so capitalize on the resources and people around you.

Private Wealth Management Intern
June - August 2019 • Cherry Hill, NJ
What I liked
I enjoyed how immersive the experience was; right from the first week, I was helping the Investment Advisors make decisions for client portfolios. I was encouraged to ask as many questions as possible and genuinely learned so much about the industry in my ten weeks with the team. I also really enjoyed going to client events and seeing first hand the relationship of trust that clients have with their Financial Advisors.

Corporate Banking Intern
May - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA
What I liked
It was a very hands-on experience. Team members were authentic and constructive with feedback. The work was real and clearly had an impact on the success of my team. Extensive opportunities to network.
What I wish was different
If I had the opportunity to work on a few more live deals, that would have been fantastic. The work I completed was more related to upcoming deals meaning credit analysis and approval constructions for upcoming deals. I worked on one deal with a relationship manager where we were discussing strategy for a meeting and I wish I had a little bit more of that.
Advice
Do not simply go through the motions i.e. take a task, complete it, just to check the box per say. Truly sit down with team members to understand the strategy behind each deal. It shows that you are thinking intellectually and that you care about the big picture.

Risk Management Intern
May - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA
What I liked
Enjoyed the atmosphere and professional culture at PNC. There were a lot of networking opportunities and they stressed learning new skills throughout the summer.
What I wish was different
Communication between the Risk HR people and our managers wasn't the best - so sometimes our managers were not up to date on what HR would tell us.
Advice
Ask for more - it is very awkward at first, but if you're bored, ask to help with other projects.

What I liked
The group is small and specialized which gave me many opportunities to ask questions and sit with different people
What I wish was different
Honestly wouldn't change a lot, I really liked the people and formed a lot of good relationships
Advice
It was kind of a crash course for me in keeping up with the news and understanding how and why the market moves when it does. If I could go back I would start reading WSJ or some other news source a few months in advance to better understand trends

What I liked
The employees were very welcoming.
What I wish was different

Advice
Please look at the corporate culture to see if you are okay with their culture. If you are a great sales person, this is the job for you. The position requires a lot of competition between banks so this is a challenge th bank faces.

Investment Operations Intern
June - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA
What I liked
The people, the hands on work, the culture of PNC, the compensation, and the networking opportunities.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been less computer work and more team problem solving. The job was great but lacked a personal communication aspect that I wish it would’ve had.
Advice
I would say this position isn’t the best for Finance majors since it is more heavily operations based rather than investments / finance related. Regardless, it was a great opportunity and I’d recommend PNC as a place of employment to anyone in CBA.
