Advice

I would advise business students to look into a job at a bank or as a bookkeeper somewhere to gain more experience with numbers, transactions, and working with people in a professional environment.

Technology Intern

June - August 2018 • Chandler, AZ

What I liked

This internship was amazing. The company is filled with very kind people. From communicating with other interns, we all had projects that contributed to production for Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo does an amazing job educating you on the technical responsibilities of your position in the team, along with helping you enhance soft skills.

What I wish was different

My position had required to have access to certain things. If we were able to handle that before starting, that would make integrating much faster.

Advice

Go into this position with an open mind, stay positive and be ready to work hard and learn.

Corporate Banking Intern

June - August 2018 • Charlotte, NC

What I liked

I really enjoyed being in the healthcare group which is their most well performing group within corporate banking. I loved the amount of autonomy they gave me over my work and the amount of responsibility they gave me even though I had no experience going in. I also like the amount of exposure we got to other groups.

What I wish was different

I wish they had more intern events so we could get to know each other well as well as other interns in other divisions. I also wish they had more location options because Charlotte isn’t for everyone.

Advice

Be proactive and work hard. Also grab coffee with everyone.

One of the best training programs Great tools to learn financing and analysis

What I wish was different

Compliance environment is very hard to navigate, which leads to inefficiencies within all banks. Systems are not as advanced as most tech-companies or non-banking companies

Advice

Theres three options as I see it when it comes to a job for finance grads: banking, corporate, or consulting Think about the environment you most want to be in, don’t just take a “finance job”

Financial Analyst

June - August 2019 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

It was great seeing what working in an office 40 hours a week was like. I was able to work with FSU Alumni which was also awesome. I learned a great deal about commercial real estate, but also how to deal with people of different personality types.

What I wish was different

I wish the program had a little more structure. I did not enjoy the days that were slow as much as I enjoyed days full of meetings.

Advice

Ask questions and network while you are there, but most importantly seek to help others whenever you can. Volunteer for any random tasks asked of people in the office.
